It's funny, I'm far more active and interactive here than I ever was on birdsite. I think maybe I just instinctively knew it wasn't a safe place.
@fallerOfFalls Same here. I rarely posted on Twitter because it would feel vague or empty. It was like you were posting just for yourself. :expressionless:
@fallerOfFalls most definitely. I've been way more active in one day than I have been in the last month on birdsite
And why do people keep following me, and liking and boosting my stuff? I'm not *that* interesting. Nobody (approximately) on birdsite gave a shit, certainly. But maybe that's not a good standard to measure against.
Maybe everyone (approximately) here is just lovely.
@fallerOfFalls I think that may be correct. FWIW, I do think your posts are interesting.
@fallerOfFalls I'm finding that the local and federated timelines is making it way easier for me to just find random people that seem interesting and follow them. On Twitter, I could only really find the popular people. The community also feels way smaller here. More like you're going to a meetup to make new friends than This Is The Internet; Be Funny Or Die.
@brwarner @fallerOfFalls Very reminiscent of old chat room culture (minus the CYBERing)
@fallerOfFalls the human to bot ratio is muuuuuch better here and i think we all got tired of not talking to each other like real people. :heart:
@fallerOfFalls The brands will eat you over there.
@fallerOfFalls It feels a lot easier (and more welcome) to interact with random people here.
@fallerOfFalls me too
