My organisation bought a new electronic health record from the biggest EHR company and there's something really cool that is totally different from the half dozen systems I've used before: there are multiple sex and gender fields so the medical record can accurately show the patient's preferred name, correct pronoun, medical-care relevant, and organ-specific information. So if I understand right, front end staff will just see correct pronoun. Medical providers can see a flag indicating trans.

@adamk678 @ScribbleAddict I was wondering if it might be a jack problem. One jack on my MoBo works fine, the other is crap. I hear you about not being able to fix the machine right now. I'm running a 12 year old Dell and I'm not going to upgrade it any time soon. Anyway, hope you can get yours fixed soon and it always feels good to get a problem diagnosed. :)
@ScribbleAddict @adamk678 @Ocean22 @staticsafe The only thing I know about sound is that it goes wonky, lol. I've found that on Linux it often works to change sound settings via command line when the GUI sound mixer isn't working. I try and isolate my variables. BlueTooth is working, which means underlaying sound is good. But do other speakers work? If you have more than one headphone jack do they work? Good luck @adam678!
Alright! I have three days to get rid of a car and a bunch of furniture, pack everything I own in to the back of my truck, and truck it down to my new house.
I thought I had a week.
I don't have a week. I have the rest of today, tomorrow, friday and saturday. And I'm working all of those days, and driving 10 hours on Sunday, and starting my new job on Monday.
That's pretty stressful.
But it means I get to be in our new house sooner, so I'm pretty pleased.
@ajroach42 Freecycle and donating to thrift shops helped us on a move from the US to Canada for school. If you don't mind not getting money you can just give stuff away!

I was even able to provide helpful things to the tech like giving her the exact error code I was getting in the browser. It was an invalid certificate. So how is your average 50+ year old senior who hasn't been running linux for the past 4 years supposed to deal with this FBI router reboot request? I'm afraid ignoring it because they don't know what to do and it sounds like a lot of bother is just what a lot of people are going to do.

...Well, I decided that I would reset my own router, because it would only take a few seconds and then I could input the IP of the router into my browser and get a nice GUI so I could reset my password. But then my browser says it's an insecure site. So I go on my ISP website and chat with the nice tech for nearly two hours to figure out what went wrong and by the end of the chat my wifi is broken and I need a new router.
Okay, so you know how the FBI (USpol) wants you to reset your router due to Russian hackers? And you know how most people won't actually do it because they don't know what a router is or if they actually have one or not? And even if they do know that the little black box that blinks at them everyday is a router, they know it's too much of a pain to reset and if computer security were really that important a Very Smart Person would figure it all out and not bother them...
