Hear ye, knitters of Mastodon! I'm curious about what kind of knitters we all are, so...
English style (right handed) or Continental style (left handed)?
I'm a Continental knitter myself, though I haven't met many of us in the wild.
Excellent Sunday to you, Mastodon! I hope yours has been good. Mine included some knitting, some CivIII, and a lot of paying attention to the cat. She's pushy.
Cat blessings be upon you during the week ahead! ππ¨

The jacket is coming along well. Hood & sleeves are done, and I found some tribbles to trim the hood. I experimented with pockets & I'll have a go at them again, after I put in the zipper.

Reaching out.
I haven't caught up on anything since I got to my brother's place yesterday & connected my N64. It still works! π
Good progress on the knitting yesterday. It's no longer destined to be a sweater so much as a jacket, because this yarn is so bulky & I'm using relatively small needles (size 9). The final product will be thick but flexible. I wish I'd thought to plan for pockets, though I think patch pockets will be nice anyway. Today I'll work on the hood & pick up some size 9 circular needles to make the sleeves.
Happy knitting everyone!
More about the hoya: it's called Atty Twinklebutt, named after one of my heroes, David Attenborough, and Twinklebutt the fish, who was laid to rest in the pot when the plant was just a small newly rooted cutting. It's the prodigy of a decades-old plant that my friend inherited from his grandfather. Its flowers smell like something rotting.
The hoya has buds!! I'm nearly dancing with excitement, because it hasn't bloomed since sometime in 2016. It's been stretching out a few new shoots over the past several weeks, but these buds are a whole 'nother level of greatness πΊ
You humans are nice & everything, but @foxpicsbot has been one of my favorite accounts to follow here. #foxes
Let's kick off this month of badassery with dedication to my two favs:
Mae Jemison (ballerina turned doctor turned first black woman in space who then decided to cameo on Star Trek), and
Marsha P. Johnson (the activist of all activists who was really about that life, gave life to Stonewall, and gave homes to homeless queer and trans kids).
