It's not JUST Starbucks at fault here. It's the institutional racism/bigotry that has the default setting for seeing brown/black people as fear or distrust.

Closing down that one Starbucks (which will likely happen b/c of boycotts) isn't going to change the larger picture. Those people lose their jobs and the corporation keeps on keeping on.

It's that people distrust and fear people of colour to this degree, that just sitting is a fucking crime.

People seem a little confuse about responsibility to fight oppression.

If there is a system that oppresses and kills people for YOUR benefit, you are morally obligated to oppose it. Even if you yourself did not commit a crime, it is for YOU.

Yes, I'm talking to you, white people, men, cis people, heterosexual people, rich people. We ALL are *morally obligated* to tear apart a system that hurts other people for our benefit.

I've never been into it, and none of the so-called "better" ones are actually better. Just more clever at hiding the grossness.
