Fountain pen, freshly cleaned, dried & filled!
@erica What pen, and what ink?
@SlowRain the ink is an old bottle of Pelikan 4001, and the pen is a Waterman. It's about 20 years old, on the cheap side, and it's a workhorse.
@SlowRain ooo, yes, I've used the Brilliant Green & liked it very much. Right now I'm using a dark green called Zhivago from a company called Noodler's. Very good find!
Watermans are the best! My first fountain pen was a trendy but sturdy Waterman with disposable cartridges that I got for $5 at a mall kiosk.
@SlowRain what are you using now?
I've got the Waterman, as well as a Pelikan SouverΓ€n M400. The Pelikan needs some adjustment, so I'm not using it these days.
@erica
I'm using a Pilot Metropolitan, a Platinum Preppy, and a Gazing Far tm2 (Schmidt nib, bocote wood barrel, gunmetal-gray section & lid). The Gazing Far pen is made here, so I decided to buy something somewhat local.
@SlowRain the Gazing Far has a nice look. Do you like how it writes?
@erica
I only have those 3 pens, and I've only sampled a handful more. The Gazing Far is very similar in weight to the Metropolitan, and it's the wettest of the three (Schmidt nib). I like it the best.
@erica
Interestingly, my only other two inks are Noodler's: Heart of Darkness and Kiowa Pecan.
I may get a Waterman pen one day, but it'd have to be after my current ones no longer work.
