Good morning.

Glad I washed those dishes.

I hope everyone has a good day.

(Looking at dirty dishes in sink): "Is morning-me gonna be sad about having to wash these?"
*thinks*
(To self): "Yes."
*rolls up sleeves and starts washing dishes*

Ugh, but I'm also right in front of the Fox News TV

Omigosh, I'm tooting from the stair-steppy machine at the gym!

Great advice on what to do if you find a baby bird from Rosemary Bosco. You can find free printables versions of her chart at birdandmoon.com/comic/found-a-

Here's an interested ProfHacker post on blogging:

I have done small-scale blogging with Wordpress installed on one of my domains for ... probably over a decade? Various incarnations, various topics--everything from ESL teaching to reading books in translation to, currently, running and hiking.

I also read a ton of blogs and I feel like I get a lot out of them. I use Feedly to collect them.

I'm checking an index for a book and one of the entries is "cheerleaders, gender-bending"

OMG fediverse I feel negligent for not recommending this sooner but there is this podcast called Ettin News where an two-headed ogre (with two personalities) explores social justice topics.

I'm real sure y'all would really really love this. I'm sorry I didn't mention it sooner.

I've updated my Brief Introduction to Mastodon to include alt-text on images and common Masto etiquette: gist.github.com/joyeusenoelle/

What a daaaaayy.
(It was fine. Really. Just a lot going on, more than expected.)

If you are an avid reader or just interested in books, I highly recommend the #amreading hashtag.

It's a remnant from the early federated protocols where we had a group for it, but I've been trying to revive it on Mastodon, and in the #fediverse again (as mastodon doesn't have groups yet).

I know Word's spellcheck won't catch everything. And it won't tell you when you have "there" in place of "their." But I always copy the text out of a nearly final PDF, paste it into Word, and run spellcheck right at the end of a project, and it ALWAYS catches at *least* one thing that proofreaders, authors, editors, and I all missed. Today it was "Commonweath" instead of "Commonwealth."

Whew.

What's everyone ?

I New York 2140 by Kim Stanley Robinson. I think it's good but I'm having a hard time really getting into it--maybe because I'm reading it as an ebook on my phone and that feels like a weirdly disjointed approach for this .
