Hey, y'all ...
Last Friday I requested a reverse follow Friday from folk in #dfw and North Texas. (If you missed it, and you're okay with it, sing out; I'd like to follow people from the area.)
This week I'd like to hear from anyone around Lincoln #lnk or Omaha #oma #nebraska, if you're comfortable revealing that much about your location...
When you've spent two days writing Makefiles, and well, *something* builds now...

The problem with skipping coffee at lunchtime is that by 2 pm I really want a cup of flippin' coffee.

Today is a great day to donate (or donate more) to our ever wonderful instance maintainer. It's a tough job and she deserves to get paid for it. let's send our spare $s to @CobaltVelvet

The trees are budding out.
It's warm enough to take a comfortable walk at lunchtime.
These are good things.
Other stupid, insulting things...
There's a dress code, which is apparently based on an anti-gang (i.e. racist) school dress code.
School dress code. WTF.
There's a padlock retrofitted to the refrigerator that contains soft drinks for clients. Consider for a second the optics of calling for the key to open the fridge to give a soda to a customer.
I think this is a result of the special affinity the previous owner had for local cops, which led to former cops being hired in HR and maintenance.

Great read, and this comment in a thread by her also hits home for me: https://twitter.com/sarahjeong/status/990974005162094599
On the bright side (I guess) after my profanity-laden rant, I feel a little better than I did before.
After gaining access, I took the liberty of exfiltrating supplies to strategic locations. 😤
I just lost my 💩 at work over janitorial supplies being kept under lock and key: stupid and frustrating.
Background: our maintenance guy is out with an injury, so as a group we're compensating by handling stuff on our own. But you can't just take out the trash and replace the bag without access to a special closet where the supplies are kept. You can't just replace the toilet paper, because of course you can't, someone might steal rolls of TP.
😠

I wish I were as organized outside of the office as I manage to be at work. I wish I knew the reason for the difference.
