Hey, octodon, how do you feel about (even) nerdier topics?

I have an identity on another instance, where I planned to keep toots about programming and software development, but there's a lot of overlap and redundancy.

(Plus I'm not thrilled about the moderation policy over there, which is to say, none.)

If I stirred that kind of think into my toots here, would that be okay with y'all?

@emdeesee I say TOTALLY. I got into coding as a teen because of chat rooms where people were talking about shit I didn't understand. I left that world behind about 10 years ago to pursue being an artist, instead, but I love to know what's going on in it, even if I no longer know myself. Nerd away!

Thanks for your input, everyone.

It was an interesting experiment, having accounts on different instances. My experience: it created a fair amount of cognitive load: should this go here or there? Should I follow from here or there (or both)? How should I slice and dice my thoughts and responses to others.

This is more comfortable to me.

@emdeesee Little late but I have no problem following multiple accounts. I agree with your later toot that it creates a lot of cognitive load though. I tried to do it once with work and personal tweets and... nope.

@nirak Not only was I struggling with what to post where, there was also overlap between the social graphs of the accounts. It just made sense to merge them.

@nirak I do dig the Tron avatar I was using on functional.cafe, though. Sigh.
