@jannamark This is true! It is literally trying to kill us, I don't understand

@WeeMadHamish It's great, the clouds keep the terrible sun from staring at me incessantly

I am so fucking sick of people complaining how gloomy and drizzly it is today. What is wrong with you monsters? Some of us are sick of your vile sunshine!

The sun is humanity's oldest enemy. It is the father of all sin. It is at best Earth's adult garbage son who I hate.

I think my critical error was in making it circular like a pin instead of rectangular like a flag, because though a lot of people noticed it, they all said "Hey I like your Easter Egg"

But it still gave me an in and I managed to tell all of them nah, it's the trans pride flag, I'm transgender.

I came out to like... half a dozen people, aside from the ones who already knew? Including the DM of my 5th edition D&D game, which is good progress I think?

So I didn't work today because it's Saturday, but yesterday for Trans Day of Visibility I dressed a little femmer than average (I'm still not totally there yet at work) and I rigged up this hasty trans pride pin with some highlighters and a paperclip from my desk

@ardgedee I deliberately didn't get any croutons on the salad but that's still a good sentiment, thanks

@ardgedee I was hoping no one would ask about that, because I just had an Italian hoagie

Which... isn't exactly a salad

Well we're having a shelter in place drill and I dunno how it's going but I do know we found prints of Sunset Boulevard and The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari so I guess we're all set

My mom called and told me my brother flew out to Albuquerque for a conference yesterday, and I said "Is that real? Didn't Bugs Bunny make that place up?" And she real seriously said "No! It's real!"

Then later I told my friend that my brother was going to Albuquerque and the first thing she said was "That's a Bugs Bunny place, like 'Pismo Beach'" so how about that MOM

maybe you should do something with yourself on this snow day, Emily, besides sit in your pyjamas in the kitchen eating queso dip and microwave taquitos

maybe you should shut up and leave me alone brain, you asshole, you absolute lying fuck

Whereas on Mastodon I'm not really as scared of that happening?

The difference between Mastodon and Twitter is I made that Guster joke on Twitter, Guster responded to it with a kind-hearted gif, the Guster response has gotten a dozen likes, and now I'm horrified one of them will click through to my profile and harass me when they see I'm a trans woman who wants to abolish the cops

Sometimes I get the impression that cis people will never understand The Little Mermaid

I guess I thought Guster was a J-Pop, visual kei band, but apparently it very much isn't
