In case you missed out on this! There's a @tagsexplorer
It's well introduced over here:

The distress signal "Mayday mayday mayday!" comes from the French "m'aidez!" (help me).
It has nothing to do with socialism or with northern hemisphere spring festivals.
May Day! May Day!
Data on book translations from and to different languages:

Incredibly, the number of translations *to* Old English, Middle English, and Middle French is more than zero. Hundreds of books have recently been translated to Latin!
Twitter kaj Facebook uzas algoritmojn, kiuj aktive malavantaĝas Esperanton.

Really, asking "what should replace Facebook" is putting things the wrong way around.
A more interesting way to ask the question is, "what did Facebook replace."
People used to build their own websites. People used to have blogs. People used USENET which was truly distributed and un-censorable.
Facebook and Google took the open internet and open standards and monetized and made everything crappy. Enough of that. Nothing should replace Facebook, it's done, stick a fork in it.
Facebook and privacy, fighting back Show more
I may have to avoid Mastodon until this #DeleteFacebook thing blows over.
It's pushing all my "people being wrong on the Internet" buttons. All of them.
Friends! Stop being idiots! Please!
The fact is, the Fediverse does not protect your data or the social graph AT ALL. Anyone who wants to harvest your data, can. It's virtually all 100% public!
At least Facebook has some speedbumps.
If we replaced Facebook with the Fediverse tomorrow, privacy would suffer immeasurably.

I believe that studying Toki Pona for just 2 weeks can help you become a better language learner.
This is an exercise that I have done twice, and it was well worth it both times.
To be clear, you will NOT become totally fluent in Toki Pona if you study for just two weeks, but you will reach a much higher level in two weeks of studying Toki Pona than in months of studying any other language. This is because Toki Pona is so simple. It only has approximately 120-125 words, and the grammar is about as easy to understand as a language can be. There is no verb conjugation, no noun declensions, no tense, no gender, no plurals, and no other unnecessarily complex aspects of language to hold you back.
Wether or not you want to actually learn the language and become part of an online community, I strongly believe that you will benefit from learning Toki Pona even if it's just for two weeks.
