an-throp-o-cene is the one which seems odd to me as it implies emphasis on the “throp” which doesn't fit at all with any pronunciation of “anthropologist” which I can manage.
@edavies An-thro-po-cene. But English is not my first language, and I don't think I ever even studied how to split words into syllables.
@minoru Yes, was unsure whether to put a split in “anthro” and, if so, should it be “an-thro” or “anth-ro”. Whatever, with “throp” not emphasised any split in that part is pretty subtle.
