About a year ago, I went to the Gucci Cafe in Florence. Take away the designer trappings, and it was an affordable, casual place to eat, with inventive food and impeccable service. Fast forward a year or so, and it was replaced by a much higher-end restaurant requiring (very) advanced reservations and a larger purse.
