When I had to reset a couple of Windows machines recently, it didn't take nearly that long. The slow bit was killing off all the telemetry and data sharing possible.

I hate dealing with pre-installed stuff like that. It slows everything down, hopefully the rest wasn't so bad. I do find it's a bit quicker getting a Linux machine up and running, between crapware on Windows or just adjusting a bunch of obscure settings.
@dumpling I agree, unfortunately no one I get to deal with uses Linux, if they even know what it is.
On the upside, at least I had a helper, a curious little Siamese kitten with the biggest thumbs I've ever seen. Wasn't able to take any pictures though
@dumpling I guess the biggest slowdown this time was prying the pre-installed McAfee off the machine, but I still can't remember the last time Ibsat down at a Win PC that just worked. (And as a copier tech I'm usually just installing printer drivers, not fixing PC issues)
