My 9-year-old nephew (who isn't white) was searching Google Images, with SafeSearch turned on, for NASA pictures. He found a meme that he thought was funny because it had a NASA logo and a snake.
It was an antisemitic meme with a swastika, a symbol which he's never seen before. I've gotta talk with him about Nazis and the internet now. And why is Google letting Nazi memes through when SafeSearch is enabled?

For Earth week I want to give you my very best environmental-friendliness advice:
Go green anywhere you just don't fucking care.
Take a few days. Look at what you use in a day, how your life operates.
Don't care what toilet paper you use? Get the sugarcane stuff. Don't care what you drink water out of? Use a jar. Won't miss a bit of cash? See if you can buy renewable electricity. Visit a local dairy if all you need is milk or eggs. Buy the microbead-free toothpaste. Etc.
Low-hanging fruit.

Four games that inspired me.
The first two are a bit obscure, but were my first exposure to interactive fiction and 3D gaming. The number on the second one is not frames per second. It might be seconds per frame.
The second two were inspirations mostly in terms of what their world implied rather than how well they executed on the premise.
My new operating system just boots into a browser that’s pointed at a mastodon instance.
I call it Boot to Toot.
My nephew has an ipad.
He asked his dad how to write games. His dad didn't know. His dad asked me how to write games on an iPad. I told him not to bother.
My nephew asked me how to learn to write games.
I gave him a raspberry pi and a copy of pico 8.
Now he writes computer games.
He couldn't do that on his iPad.
