Every time /r/fantasy had a "list your best ten novels" I keep hoping to see mine. Sooner or later, I'll get in that list.

The second thought is to try again.

Kanéko's archery and riding lessons with Garèo start off poorly and get worse. The only highlight is Pahim cheering her own, though she never expected for Maris to also encourage her.

I updated my privacy policy today. Which is to say I added one.

Books, DVDs, and LEGO are all part of my Score, the things I like collecting and collections I'm proud of. Yeah, it doesn't matter to some people, but they bring me joy so I do them (a lot less though, since I had children).

Yet, when I see her beta product, I feel guilty that I want it to burn in a fire so badly she goes to prison. I want her to actually understand the consequences of the lives she's ruined.

At the same time, my generous side desperately hopes she succeeds.

It wasn't until I was married that I had someone help me get out of that fucked up relationship. I hear about the "why don't you just leave?" It is hard, nearly impossible. I'm relatively smart and creative, but I couldn't do it until my spouse came into my life and said "this is fucked up" enough times I finally had the courage to do it.

It took us nine years to move to Iowa. Nine years to get out and I've never been happier.

When I had my first burnout, I was working 20 hour days, 7 days a week, for 6 months solid. One day, I came into that office, tried to turn on a computer, and just started crying. I couldn't do it anymore, I lost the joy of the one thing I loved more than anything else.

Her response? I was being a whiny kid who should be glad for work because no one else would hire me.

I talk about growing up in a 10k square foot house, going to all these countries while I was a teenager, driving a Rolls-Royce (I hated it), and meeting with C-level exec in large companies, but those were just the highlights.

No one ever sees the woman who refused to defect her own mother against a lawsuit, who lied to the courts knowing that I would lose almost everything (I had 75 days to see 90% of my assets after that one).

Is it bad that I see my mother's latest product being beta tested and I feel is a profound sadness for all those hopeful people she's fucking over?

She's made and lost more money I will ever see in my life (the year I left her company, she made about $2M and spent it all). She has a new "thing" every eighteen months, each one is the new shiny toy while she fucks with the people who bought into the previous one.

All she leaves is broken hope and people behind.

Sand and Blood wasn't supposed to be my 1st novel. I wanted one of the queer characters out first but... life. Kaneko was getting rejected which is why it was written 1st.

SAB was also supposed to be only a 20k words story, so at least I consistently disappoint myself.

Why did that double post? Automation is fun until it isn't.

On the road with Pahim, Kanéko makes the bold move of avoiding Garèo and setting up camp with Pahim well away from the others.

Apparently, he isn't rude for mansplaining because he cherishes woman.

Oh and studies can't be trusted because of "outside factors" instead of... I don't know, reading how they did the study? Researching it, coming up with proof I'm wrong? (I linked the studies in response to his first post.)
