"Because I need you, Papa. I said I'd get this work done and I'm out of time."
"I told you not to take it." He sighed and looked at the gutted hall. Piles of planks lined the walls. "The Society's party is tomorrow?"
His son sighed.
"Fine." Gad stepped into the room. The planks launched themselves into the air and flew to their position. He waved his hand and sent nails streaming after them. With aching joints, he drove them home. #mfic

This is story is another "useful utility" one though I can't even remote build in the entire High Scoiety I'm building for Tarsan. Hopefully that will be fleshed out in my romance novel, Second-Hand Dresses (https://fedran.com/second-hand-dresses/).
I have another story planned about using telekinesis for builders/mechanics/carpenters (Oile). I'll also probably write one about an accounting with paper powers. :)

@DialMforMara As civilization moves away from killing people for violence (the coastal regions as opposed to the desert which is violent), the power and abilities change to more utilitarian magic.
Since elemental and reactional magic accounts for 99.7% of the population, there are inevitable folks who have a utilitarian water talent (99.2%) or are a water mage (0.8%). With no combat to prove themselves, many get jobs in the field their talent or magic is well suited.
