Bor woke up with a splitting headache and his body aching from his beating. The room smelled of Maris and the bed underneath him was soft.

"Bor?" asked Mar, tears in her eyes.

"What happened?"

"Mommy stopped the fight"

Automatically, Bor reached up and dabbed his ears. His fingertips came back bloody. Looking over, he saw splintered wood and the door hung from one hinge. "That bitch can yell"

"And Daddy is pissed"
