I miss the days when Pidgin and Trillian were the only multichat I needed. Now, nothing plays well together, everyone has to write their own clients, and each one has flaws that the others have addressed.
Same with banking sites, businesses, and ordering delivery. I just wish companies would just play with each other instead of creating silos.
It's a problem I can't fix. It even see how it can be resolved. There isn't going to be one standard.
I just like playing with others.
@dmoonfire I have my own matrix server with bridges set up for WhatsApp, telegram and Hangouts (slack and discord will set up if I need them).
One single client, one single login. All my instant messaging (except work. Work is on Google Chat and that's so obscure and niche that nobody wrote a bridge for it)
