I am an #atheist. I have been for most of my adult life. I grew up in the church, the son of a pastor.
When tragedies strike, I'm critical of the people who will say "OH NO! #thoughtsandprayers"! and then do jack shit else.
As @Stonekettle has repeatedly said: IF you want a better country, be a better citizen.
That's my mantra now. I want our country to be better. I want our world to be better. Now is the time. Now is the place. It's time to talk #guncontrol.
Ok, some people collect weird stuff, like antique pipes, vintage cars and stray cats. I just have books & art magnetism, no idea how it works.
Anyway, today I spotted 3 new pieces of my beloved china, in a new pattern too. And here I was pacing myself, lusting after early medieval glass reproductions for next year.
My daughter was robbed/mobbed when switching buses after school. She's fine, but madder than an affronted beehive. Didn't yell at her, just made sure she learned from it.
Alredy braved ikea, an attempted brake-in, getting soaked in 50F rain&wind gardening and feeling like crap warmed over before this.
Postponed 2 phone calls that will cause The Gnashing of Teeth until tomorrow

New infrastructure. Efficient, robust, sustainable energy grid, transportation, and communications systems. Etc.
Done right, Puerto Rico could not only recover, but become a model for the world.

Autumn is the season for crafts in this house, just like spring calls for fixing and workouts. Just the flow of the seasons.
Sewing, planning a quilt, tried watercolours first time since forever, building a chest of drawers and an artsy bookshelf. Monthly concerts and a weekly night class.
