I was planting the last few plants in the garden when I came 2 inches from running the spade through a hibernating hedgehog! Don't know who was most startled! The little guy wasn't hit, he moved when I checked on him, so I planted my bush, put the soil and leaves back on top of him and moved off.
Been hoping to lure on into the garden for a decade. So come spring I'll turn this place into a hedgehog haven heaven octodon.social/media/qZal-uIO_
