@bhtooefr @dittoslash behavior seems very inconsistent! the host program decodes IDN when printing output but doesn't accept emoji as an argument
@bhtooefr @dittoslash most random network programs seem to reject emoji hostname arguments, some will use it as a binary argument (without IDN encoding)

@dittoslash @katex ...tbh, there is a standard way to do *that*, but I'm guessing 99% of things on the console just won't handle it (punycode IDNs).
