@Wintermute21 Mario Kart Rainbow Road VR, nice!
@sungo You can try to cut the micro to nano. The chip's size is the same. If you've got some A4 printer and a metric ruler: ftp://ftp.heise.de/pub/ct/spezial/VorlageNanoSIM.pdf
I always wondered why the version isn't mentioned on the getting-started page or somwhere...
@jangles local in a way: that's a problem on octodon.social. But not limited to you.
@NeuroWinter send a catpic with the NDR. They love it and it's totally unsuspicious.
@chr installing sharepoint would be a good start
🤔
@chr
C:\> 'touch' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable or batch file

Haha, try this @symantec when your antivirus expires: http://www.taiwannews.com.tw/en/news/3161826

@Kent seems the webserver on the machine holding the images (assets.octodon.social) is down, possibly blocked by some firewall.
I'm sure @CobaltVelvet is aware of this, although her monitoring system doesn't show an alert (at least to the public).
@Kent Yup, same here.
Displayed images seem to be cached locally.
@Siphonay I think I'm happy to use IRC :)

@Scavenger Well, if there's high CPU load or high disk usage (I/O) that comes from an unknown process, then you might be in trouble.
Press ctrl-shift-escape to open the taskmanager and have a look. But usually the malware uses legit names, so if you have excel open and the malware calls itself "excel.exe" it may be hard to spot.
You can boot the cd-iso from an usb stick as well, using a tool called rufus to create the stick: https://rufus.akeo.ie/
@Scavenger @lifning@witches.town Telemetry is the call-home stuff. Spying, I'd call it.
This might help, don't know: https://modzero.github.io/fix-windows-privacy/
@Scavenger Ummm.... What do you mean "not even sure whats going on"? If you're infected the updates won't help.
If you're not sure your PC is clean, turn it off. Hard! Then download some live CD from kaspersky or sth alike, using another computer, burn a CD and scan the first PC. Really!
You're welcome :)
@lifning@witches.town @Scavenger Yeah, that might be a good solution. But needs some experience since blocking telemetry domains isn't really easy I think.
@Kent Seems a good choice. Especially for ignoring TV and FB :D
@Scavenger I don't know how windows defender works, sorry. On win7 it isn't that good as in win10, i think i remember. But please, don't take my word for this!
You can get the patches for Windows by using Windows Update.
If you can't do that for some reasons, try the link in my last toot.
Regarding your other post: i wouldn't upgrade to win 8.1 as long as windows 7 is supported by microsoft
