This kind of thing hadn't happened to me in ages, but I was walking home late (~3am) and saw a guy standing kitty-corner from me, just standing as if waiting to cross the street, but there was no traffic. As soon as I passed, he shouted something like "oh no!" and started walking behind me down the middle of the road. I watched over my shoulder and saw him turn the corner after me.

And, like, maybe he was just drunk, and his actions weren't connected to me at all, but I've promised myself never to squash my instincts on this kind of thing. Worst case, I hurt a drunk guy's feelings.
Weird thing, I wasn't scared, I didn't have a burst of adrenaline. I felt clear-headed. And, unlike when this used to happen a lot more often, I know my fight/flight is calibrated to fight. I ran so I wouldn't have to.
