So this is kinda illustrative of what I've been talking about with the "ives-isation" of design. Sure, the Juicero is an inherently preposterous device, but the exterior design of the thing makes it even more preposterous. It's a plastic monobody meant to make you forget the thing has moving parts or a metal interior; it makes the mechanical difficulty of what it does obscure and opaque, so it looks stupider.

ALSO we just explained to our prof what a circlejerk is, other than the, uh, most obvious definition

@tiffsming pu-erh that's been stored with chen pi is my jam

@perigee the miso sounds like a fantastic idea in particular. Thanks for the recommendations!

@clstal Ooh, that sounds very good. Probably plus raisins for me. If I try this, I will report back

@perigee Yes, I do, and I don't have any particular dietary restrictions.

good morning Mastodon! Any suggestions for savoury oatmeal? Just did a peanut butter + soy sauce + sriracha + green onion + egg thing which was very good, but also totally copied off a shop I went to. Would like to experiment more!

@ikea_femme it's kinda got me wondering, is there a () community on Mastodon? Or groups of sign language learners—I only know a little myself.

@ikea_femme Hell yes! Very rewarding. Plus, learning new languages is fun (if you're into that kinda thing)! And sign language grammars are v interesting + use of nonmanuals e.g. facial expressions are super cool etc. etc.

(I met my girlfriend at an ASL class we were attending so I may be biased)
