@SakuraNoSeirei You seem to be catching on well so far? Enjoy the federated timeline, I don't think there's another feature in social media platforms quite like it.
when you think it's vim but it's actually vi
@hattiecat It's not that weird, I've seen this as a piece of advice in a number of places. (But rubocop likes the rvalue on the right, at any rate.)

@ente I've been so preoccupied by the federated timeline (killer feature!) myself that I haven't really looked for people to follow.
I also don't have overmuch to say. ๐

If your system administrator stops complaining, then you know you really have a problem.
@doodler Ugh, yes. Hiring requirements are often hallucinatory. It's an uphill climb, still worth doing. Best wishes out there.
@doodler And! Caveat to that last, if the career counselor is negative it may very well be their problem. Without revealing something I suspect I may have been told in confidence, sometimes job bureau advice seems to not be given with your best interests in mind, rather to help the bureau's bottom line. Plenty of former retail people rock the rest of their careers.
@doodler If you take unsolicited internet person advice, it may turn out that you now have all sorts of useful skills now. Dealing with customers, up-selling, thinking on your feet, and you are trusted with cash money besides. These are all quite transferable. You also have a great interview hook, you are trying to better yourself and improve your position in life. http://www.talentthinktank.com/whats-your-hook-jan2016/ among others, and maybe talk to a local career counselor who can give a professional viewpoint.
For the record, Holst's Mars is what plays in my head when white people give me their unsolicited opinions.
@jquinby Wait, why the retina? Shouldn't the UV be focused on to the all-natural reiki acupressure points?
@deavmi I thought your TTY switch point meant boot with the X server running and then switch TTYs, but I am apparently still mentally on vacation and not totally with it.
@deavmi True, but then you have to look at an X display manager first. ;)
@deavmi No idea about the cool kids, but you might just stop the X server from running on boot to get your console login instead of the display manager.
@senemura I read this and wondered if you were one of the original emacs users. https://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/manual/html_node/emacs/Undo.html
