Here's a video of my Goblins implementation of Conway's Game of Life that I mentioned. The grid and its cells are actors/objects. There's not much to it. I'm writing a related Goblins-based library for creating geometric scopes for object references; regulated worlds or zones for objects to interact through. Maybe it could be used with Lux to make games. Idk if I have the "capability" to do all of this but I'm hopeful.

The screencast is a bit laggy because the computer I used is old.

It seems like "bizarre" is a reasonable replacement for many of the more ableist words/phrases for describing considered to be ill-concieved. I don't know of any problems with that term as it doesn't seem to imply any kind of mental impairment, but rather strange and out-there'ness?

so why on earth would you intentionally worship Ashenzari as a gnoll in DCSS, just wondering

It's easy to forget just how bad text is at communicating tone, and thus just how important it can be to speak over voice when you have an internets conflict.

thinkin about ghost plants

Monotropa uniflora - it grows white and can grow in darkness cause its a PARASITE and it uses fungus in the soil as a host to receive nutrients because it does not do photosynthesis on its own

@cwebber RIP Phantasy Star Universe. (I think I might see my character in one of those screenshots too!)

But yeah, a more resilient system would be amazing. My favorite online games throughout the years are still alive due to the work of their fans, not because of their creators.

@cwebber My first job out of college was at Turbine and it still makes me so sad to see the Asheron's Call closure screenshots :(

It was such an incredible community

Screenshots of final moments before various MMOs have been shut down

Can we build a system where users are not beholden to the profit line of a single company to decide whether their communities continue?

took a day off and mostly played the new release of dungeon crawl stone soup to relax
