We were really spoiled in our last two places that we had a washer/dryer all to ourselves. Forgot how annoying the synchronization problems are in a shared laundry situation.

But, nicer than having no on-site laundry option I guess.

@freakazoid @jalcine @bhtooefr This is energy we’re talking about. There is no company that is going to just sit and wait to see what the government does, especially the oil industry.

Which is why a lot of industrialists didn’t like Obama, because he was going in that direction of setting federal precedents for a clean energy infrastructure.

I agree about the carbon tax, but there is a reason why it’s so difficult to pass such a no brainer piece of policy.

so uh

if we don't do something about the environment we're all gonna die

just fyi

It's been a little bit hard to figure out how to explain that my on-and-off hobby project for the last 6 years (with a 4 year break) has been a Nintendo emulator in Common Lisp.

I think that's because the emulator isn't the thing it's the thing that leads to the thing.

The real goal is being able to play a ROM and answer questions to help a constraint solver construct a _model_ of the control/data flow of the game. I don't know if this is possible. To quote Zero Cool, "Fucked if I care, man."

If this was a Phd thesis, the title would be "Learning to write video games by Playing video games: Lambda the ultimate something or other".

Does your #golang #activitypub application use go-fed? Want free and cheap marketing? Want to put an end to the universal increase of entropy*?

Let me know some details in the linked github issue, so I can update the go-fed README with it!

Thinking of writing a blogpost about some of the things I've been saying lately: "Privilege isn't a sin, it's a responsibility and a debt to be repaid"

Huh... I think aside from ActivityPub reaching Recommendation status this is the most favorited thing I've ever posted on here... unexpected, but I guess that's a good sign and gives me some hope that people here generally get it

Do you have a *right* to say whatever you want? Legally it's an important right. But should you? What you *should* do is something else entirely.

You can use that free speech in all sorts of ways. How did you choose to use it?

And are you really, really, actually an "equal opportunity offender"?

If you claim everyone should have thick skin you'd better not be blowing up at Sarah Jeong for making a few jokes about white people and then turn around and say racist or ableist or whatever shit

Fucking pissed at white dudes in free software prioritizing exercising their free speech by showing "look, I can make jokes which affect people not like me" and then being like "free software is a movement for everyone"

Nobody has ever questioned whether *I* belong. But I've tried to bring in plenty of other people who left because they didn't feel welcome.

I believe in free software, I want it to be a movement for everyone. Most of these people would say "I do too".

SO FUCKING ACT LIKE IT.
