Once again in my own words to make sure more people see it: The Stylish browser extension apparently uploads your browser history robertheaton.com/2018/07/02/st

Another important take-away from my meetings already: calling MEPs is way more effective than e-mailing them.

E-mailing MEPs with a standard e-mail from a template can actually be counter-productive.

If you can, please *call* your MEPs. You can find your MEP here:
europarl.europa.eu/meps/en/map

If you'd rather e-mail, please write two-three paragraphs in your own words, from your e-mail address. Even if it's not as slick as the template, it will work way better!

We went to the cinema last night with some friends and meant to see RBG, but it was sold out. We saw Won't You Be My Neighbor instead... and I can't believe just how good and pure that was and just how much I needed it right now.

@strypey @LWFlouisa I don't think ActivityPub necessarily does a better job than OStatus except in that you can control better who your message goes to (that and the Block activity). Sadly that's not being taken advantage of by most major AP implementations ATM.

But yeah, I agree with the general thing you're discussing, about having opt-in networks be a way to improve communication

@sazius whoa. Thank you for all you did on Pumpa... huge inspiration to me, and since it helped me use Pump.IO I think it's fair to say I wouldn't have spent enough time to learn the Pump API and then contribute to ActivityPub without it!

Anyone who has problems with upgrading an old guix version, run:
guix package -i guile-sqlite3
guix pull
guix pull # yes, a second time

New Guix versions are now pre-build on hydra.gnu.org and installed to .config/guix/current.
That should mean goodbye to long compile times for guix pull. !guix

@liw Yes, that's completely feasible (replace "mastodon message" with "an object with a type extension indicating a commit" and that plan is solid)

Brief quote of @rhiaro and ActivityPub shoutout in this Vanity Fair article:

> “I resent the control corporations have over people and their everyday lives. I hate the surveillance society we have accidently brought upon ourselves,” says Amy Guy, a coder from Scotland who helped build a platform called ActivityPub to connect decentralized Web sites.

Mastodon and PeerTube are also mentioned.

@aidalgol @tomasino Pixel Dungeon is a good starter roguelike. It's available for Android, on F-Droid.

You can view the hard work of the volunteers at the IA collection, including dozens of people who heard about it specifically from mastodon. Thanks to @eq for providing the initial mastodon call for action!

@horsemans Consider Racket + Lux (optinally + mode-lambda)?

Doesn't compile to native code, but does run on all platforms.

why yes... I did just blow nearly 6 hours on a roguelike today :P

YEAH I MADE IT

4996614 Deeply the Dwarven Barricade (level 27, 246/306 HPs)
