Oh yeah did I mention that at a family gathering recently I ran a Fate game for kids between the ages of 4-9? It went pretty well!

Two of them had never even heard of an RPG and without even knowing about it being a thing they asked to pause after character creation so they could draw their characters

One was a unicorn that shot rainbow fire from its horn, one was a panda that was "cute, but also tricky", and one was (very broadly) "an assassin"

@lurak I'm not sure what that has to do with this thread...

but yes I run GuixSD

@cwebber
sorry i just saw ur profile and got curious

@cwebber
i hope u are not mad about me using ubuntu, i know .... ;)

@lurak Well it's not really any of my business anyway?

@cwebber

well, its our business to make the software world less proprietary...

also proprietary is hard to spell

@cwebber
i try to get rid of windows first

@cwebber I ran a few sessions with Clover, and it was fun to describe Kiki, the Delivery Witch, in Fate terms. I was able to get some of the + and - dice mechanics understood, but pretty soon we forgot about the them all together as we raced around the city delivering produce from Stardew Valley, while avoiding neko-slimes (from Slime Rancher), and verbally insulting anyone trying to befriend us merely because we can fly!

Dice might work with more kids, as the item of attention.

@cwebber That's awesome to see. Did you use Accelerated or Core?
