Had my first time out at a significant gathering since I transitioned. A family wedding in Kansas... and I was really nervous.

But actually people were great. It was a good experience. People were respectful who knew me before. And I think I passed for most who didn't?

One southern gentleman asked asked how I knew the bride & groom, I said I was the bride's cousin, he nodded as if no big deal, and then I said here's my wife @mlemweb and he did a double take, like obviously he hadn't already read me as queer since the lesbian part surprised him

Also here's @mlemweb and I earlier in the day, before donning our wedding attire
