uspol, trump, don't use body shaming as your avenue of criticism

It's not worthwhile or interesting to attack Donald Trump for his personal appearance. That's just shallow.

Attack him because he's a terrible human being with horrible, horrible policies. You've got enough to go with there.

@cwebber I agree, though I'd take it to another level.. No need to lie or distort his policies either, which seems to be happening a lot. that just gives Trump the ability to discredit the argument against him.

Stick to the facts, dont exaggerate, that is more than enough to discredit him without getting hyperbolic.

A good example in where I saw this backfire was when progressive consistently lied about him cutting funding to the CDC, when in fact every year CDC funding had increased. Stuff like this just strengthens Trump and makes progressives look like the bad guy.

@freemo @cwebber
Or did they say Trump's *budget* cut their funding? Big difference. As bad as things are, Dems controlling the House has saved us more pain than we would have otherwise.

"In fact, all of Trump’s budget proposals have called for cuts to CDC funding, but Congress has intervened each time by passing spending bills with year-over-year increases for the CDC that Trump then signed into law."

@leadore

Nope, they legit said that he cut the CDc funding. In fact I pointed out when I corrected many of them that he did propose budgets briefly that reduced CDC budget but quickly back peddled and wound up signing one into law that increased it instead. While trump's initial proposals usually do include cuts later drafts and ultimately the ones he signed into law did not. Though every proggressive I discussed the issue with thought was a lie and insisted actual realized cuts had occured.

They still denied it and insisted that the actual final budget had been cut.

In fact they usual use the cutting of the budget as an excuse as to why COVID-19 is as bad as it is, which of course makes no sense if it were just a budget proposal.

@cwebber I suppose it makes sense as a tactic if their own policies are hard to distinguish from Trump's. That's essentially Biden's platform: "Trump is fat and uncultured."

@emacsomancer @cwebber Are you referring to when Pelosi called him "Morbidly Obese"
