Wanting to reduce the web to a text-only rendering because of executive dysfunction, physical disability, other mental disability, security, privacy or frugality (bandwidth/compute resources) are very important use cases that are near and dear to me.

That you have to be a technologist to know how to do this, or to know when a site is abusing your trust via malicious code or informatics, is pathetic. As a SW professional, I'm partially to blame.

But we've already lost the battle.

@wohali even as a SW professional I can't entirely ditch X windows for an e-ink display and tmux like I'd like to.

@cwd I actually computed for a while on a Notion Ink Adam - transflective e-Ink display with multiple shades of grey - so I could work outside.

I learned Toronto doesn't stay warm long, and I get cold easily.

I spend as much time as possible outside of the web browser. Increasingly, that's offline entirely.

your welcome @cwd

@wohali wow neat I have never seen those before. I don't understand why e-ink options are so scarce. Here in New Mexico I could work outside ~250 days a year if I could see the screen.

But yeah: GUI < CLI < IRL
