Hey folks,
If you have some spare Liberapay cash laying around would you please consider sending it to Sophie Lagace?
https://liberapay.com/SophieLagace
She outlines the reasons in her blog post here:

Suffice to say they're going to though a rough patch and could use the financial support.
Thanks!

I'm blown away by your positive response to These Are Animals. I've now given it a permanent home as a free download on DriveThruRPG/RPGNow, which also means there's a space for reviews and comments--which I would welcome. It's here: http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/244973/These-are-animals

I'd really like to know why my Ubuntu machine will randomly lock up whenever I put in an audio CD.
I think part of the reason I get that feeling was because these things were so expensive. But they contained so much power.
But then again I would still get that feeling looking at a GCC manual.
I'm probably weird.
Unrelated: I still get an unreasonable bit of joy whenever I see a picture of the manuals for Turbo Pascal and Turbo C.
(Which you can read online if you're so inclined: https://archive.org/details/bitsavers_borlandturReferenceGuide1988_19310204)
Hey, you can get @viTekiM 's R-COIL for $2 right now.
https://vectorhat.itch.io/r-coil
R-COIL is "what if Asteroids were 870% cooler and had particle effects?". It's really fun.
It also has a mode where you don't have to worry about lives or scoreboards, you can just shoot asteroids and alien ships to your heart's content. It's great stress relief.
I remember going to the Wayne State Book Store to pick up a copy of Borland C++ 4.0 for $99 (which normally retailed for $499).
I can now buy any range of single board computers and run gcc for $5-$35 dollars, all told.
That is mind-boggling to me.
Remember when you had to go to a store to plunk down some serious cash to get something like a C compiler and an editor?
I wondered if that was still true so I checked Microcenter's site. The closest approximation was some web design software.
