It would appear that YouTube really doesn't like hosting popular videos unless they get some ad revenue off of it. This would explain the #blender situation as well as their changing of ad sharing requirements.

"You must be this popular to get ad revenue, but not too popular without ad revenue".

I think we figured out their sweet spot for how they monetize the service.

Urgh, I think I was a little too diligent in the 1990s of getting rid of all of my hair metal albums.

There was an arcade game from MTV that was a set of drum pads where you could play the drums with any song in their jukebox. I remember sitting down to play this song one time and a guy was dancing behind me to the music.
