Day 13: A song you like from the 70s:

There's a lot of obvious choices here for me. Frank Zappa's output during this time was amazing, as was the output of King Crimson, Rush, Yes, Genesis, and basically all things prog.

But in the interest of trying to be non-obvious I'll pick something that I doubt anyone would have suspected:

Isao Tomita: Tomita Planets - Jupiter, The Bringer of Jollity


(Apparently Imogen Holst didn't care for Tomita's interpretation and refused permission so the album was withdrawn. But fortunately I was able to quite literally stumble upon the CD at my local music store and begin my appreciation of Isao Tomita's unique version of this work).

@craigmaloney ... wow, really? I got introduced to this album when a friend of mine broke out the record back when I was in high school. It's been recently remastered for quadraphonic listening, so I'm surprised to find it's been withdrawn.

@literorrery It was withdrawn shortly after release. It has since been released many times over.

Octodon is a nice general purpose instance. more
