@craigmaloney Forgive me if you've already seen my take on this (or aren't interested), but their use of Condorcet's method pretty much guarantees "inoffensive" outcomes like this. According to my reading of the results, calling for Stallman's or the entire board's removal would have won had the folks who voted for those not put "no statement" as their second or third choice.

@craigmaloney I think the thing people don't realize is that it's still remaining neutral in a situation of oppression even if you gave not remaining neutral a higher ranking. Not remaining neutral requires not treating neutrality as an acceptable option *at all*, even when there's the possibility that things will instead go the other direction.

@craigmaloney is this how they usually (fail to) make decisions, or do they only follow this convoluted, opaque procedure when they know people are watching?

@craigmaloney Apart from the fact that I can't even tell what the condition is for a proposal to pass, why should "do nothing" be a separate proposal? Isn't that what happens by default if none of the concrete proposals pass?

@leifurhauks This is way above my pay-grade to understand. 😏

@craigmaloney i can't imagine being asked to vote through a procedure like this. So I can't tell what it takes for a proposal to post. I don't know how I should rank my choices. am I supposed to buy a textbook, abandon my work for the day, and spend hours studying obscure voting procedures? I'm pretty sure I would just quit

@craigmaloney on top of that, it looks like the software for *submitting ones ballot* by email is so picky that maintainers and developers of a leading open source OS had ballots get rejected because they weren't submitted correctly
