Bought one of those Eco Friendly K-Cup reusable filters and am coming to the realization that pre-ground coffee is terrible for anything other than pour-overs.
@alice And yet they make it difficult to buy whole-bean coffee.

@craigmaloney I can give you tips on who to get whole beans from.
@alice Thanks. We have a few but I was trying to wean myself back off of K-cup convenience and trying to do something a little more environmentally friendly
And then I realized that I'm the sort of person who would rather have a decent cup of coffee out of all of this. ;)
We do have a mill-and-brew coffeemaker, but it's a bit of an ordeal. I think I need to focus on making that work for the daily routine.
@craigmaloney I’m sorry you had to discover this. :c
@slightlyflightyone It was bound to happen sometime.
@craigmaloney What's the filter made of? Gold? Nylon?
@naga silver mesh afaict.
@craigmaloney Just curious. I use a Clever Dripper with paper filters. It's basically a hybrid of pour-over and immersion brews.
@craigmaloney And I love my burr grinder to a perhaps inappropriate extent.
@naga @craigmaloney no such thing for quality coffee equipment imo
@alice @craigmaloney I knew I liked you.
@craigmaloney Er, gold-colored metal mesh
@craigmaloney
I stopped using then for that very reason.
@TheGibson @craigmaloney I started using a stove top espresso maker. No filters and fairly convenient, but I do also grind my beans each time I make coffee.
@craigmaloney unless you know when it was ground you can't trust it
