@craigmaloney we don’t really strive for cross-platform apis in other places is what I mean. it doesn’t seem like a ton of work to port to metal, especially considering the work debugging the OpenGL implementation
@sweetietheyknow I'm not at the point where I can speak about this from a spot of knowledge, but my understanding is the less friction we have for developers to port their code the better it is for everyone involved.
That we have Unity / Godot means that Linux folks tend to get more games out of the deal.
But I'm not at the level to understand a lot of the underlying engine workings at the moment.
@craigmaloney vulkan is too low level to be a proper opengl replacement (nor is it intended to be)
