There's two sorts of developers reactions to Microsoft purchasing Github.

The first is pleased that GitHub will be funded for the foreseeable future. They're willing to go along with the status quo until it no longer suits them.

Then there's the developers who see themselves as part of something greater. They're the ones who want to help build better futures and see companies like Microsoft as anathema to that goal. They rebel against corporate control.

Color me part of the rebels.

@kemonine I'm sticking around on GitHub in the interim but am migrating my projects to Gitlab / Framagit and taking a more wait-and-see approach. I already am way behind on hosting my own stuff and would rather offload some of that for now.
