@upside @MightyBigCar @Troll Yep - Brett is a delicious wonderful bug, among several other sour and funkifying delights. Feed it a little sugar (like a jar of jelly/carboy) late in fermentation and it will reward you with complexity and perhaps more fruit taste than you expected to get out of such a small addition. is my *favorite *!

Oh jeez, a expected, Handmaid's Tale is *fucking my shit up hard*. It's too goddamn real. It's not supposed to feel like a documentary, and yet, here we are.

(And yes, I've read the book, it fucked me up too, but that was a while ago when fascist theocracy was a bit more distant.)

@danielle Wherever you're safest! Seriously, worry less about other people's discomfort and go where you need to go! (Yes, I feel like my mother right now, and safety is directly tied to other people's discomfort, so you're in a catch-22, but err on the side of your needs is all I'm saying)

@Latkes Good call - I've been neglecting that lately, and I think you're right - it's not helping!

Please save me from my brain! How do you when you're and distracted? Usually caffene and a table in public (coffee, lib, wk) are enough, but they've stopped working!

Studying in a library today - mixing it up! # library

@PoliticalVoyeur jesus YES! I lived in one city for two years and left with one friend (it was a long ass two years!). If you don't meet people thru work get roommates or take a class (in anything you think you'll like). It's hard work - you can do it!

Re-reading Matter. If you're a sci-fi fan who hasn't read DO IT NOW. So good!

@aldersprig ooooh, wow. They could have done a cute double knit baby hat WAY better than all that garbage in the beginning. Reads like a lionbrad ad written by some conservative flatlander copywriter - YUCK!

@andschwa Climate March next weekend could use some brains I think! :)

@cwylo Tamari, sunflower seeds, ground flax seeds, plus minus raisins

@ampersand I played a great game called about balancing the US budget. Bills/agencies in the news have almost no effect (other than military, obvs) on long term balance no matter what talking heads say - it's all about bills and loopholes that I'd never heard of. It's fascinating and (relatively) accessible!

@Anthony_p_c Oooh, and I'm gonna steal it, because that absolutely describes my job!

Apparently describing some aspect of our reporting as 'duct tape all the way down' was amusing to my boss. I will have to remember that line, could get more use out of it.
