I like that text-based communication gives you a moment to figure out what you want to say and craft your response, I don’t like how texting has gone from the IM paradigm of “send me a message and I’ll get with you when I can” to the current “it’s been .25 seconds since I texted you and I’m now assuming the worst,” it’s bad, I hate it. This thought brought to you by my coworker texting me five times in the last minute with increasing anger levels before I could even respond

@checkervest i get overwhelmed by rapid-fire responses that don't give room to breath. i even consider it abusive, silencing behaviour.
