@GoForJonCo hellur
@rez from what I have understood you would lose your connection. Think email.
Taking #Amaroq notification server down for a bit for some upgrades- we need moar power :v
Stay tuned~
@yong I am using Amaroq. It is the only choice I have found for iPhone. If you have another one please let me know.
@schlink @princessfluffy I agree it will become the norm at some point but it will take some learning/teaching because everyone is accustomed social networking and @ user names.
@oneoffsuit @princessfluffy For real. IRC was one of the things that brought me to learning more about computers and the internet.
@princessfluffy yeah it took me some time to figure it out. That is a downfall to a decentralized social network. It's more like IRC than a typical social network on that front.
@princessfluffy your global username is princessfluffy@octodon.social
So people on other instances would need to follow you using that user name. My understanding is you can not use that to login on other instances.
@princessfluffy global username yes, login no. People on other instances would find you by looking for username@[youinstance]
@oneoffsuit I don't know. With the articles being posted today, I think the tech crowd will start to show up. Will just have to see if they hang around.
Personally, I think the only thing missing is an easy way to find people.
After using Mastodon for less than a day, going back to Twitter's 140 character limit feels so primitive.
@max that is my thoughts too. Been wanting this for a long time.
Waiting to see if there will be a massive tech exodus from Twitter.
