@Vann Figuring out how to do this is a really hard problem, one I’ve struggled with massively as someone who tries to teach people new languages and CS concepts. In too many cases a sufficiently motivational example just has too many other details and complexities to be useful for teaching, because they obscure the core concept your trying to teach.
No idea what the right solution is here, but I’m sorry you’re frustrated.

The frustration with that site was mostly the unusual structure of their code examples making them hard to follow despite their simplicity
And yeah I get you there. I think what I like best is a simple demonstration of what the thing does and how it works followed by a more involved "OK but here's what it can do better than any other option" section. Code with a detailed explanation of how the thing is used in it and short comments for the unrelated parts
