I have my first graders' work sprawled out across the kitchen table right now as I prepare notes for upcoming parent-teacher conferences.

If any of my students saw me doing this, it would surely become part of how they play school. I wonder what they would use in place of real student work. Paper with scribbles on it? Junk mail? Their grown-ups' work or files?

@cardamomo my friend’s precocious 8 year old daughter sometimes plays “board meeting” instead of “house.”

@coachdrewglobal I wonder what kinds of decisions are made in her board room.

@cardamomo she’s not playin around! I mean she is, but she’s not. You know what I mean! Check her out here: livanthropy.com

@coachdrewglobal Now I see what you mean by "precocious!" :)

@cardamomo Right?! She was a keynote speaker at a youth conference I organized last summer! www.2020conference.org #2020Conference
