Thanks, latest version of Chromium, for letting me know there are printers on this network that can be added to Cloud Print. I work at a printer company, doing firmware work. Half the printers you found are probably fakes running on emulators that will cease to exist next time the dev needs to rebuild.

There. I think I've fixed enough of the issues I had with the first proof of the book to order another one. A friend is also reviewing what I've got to make sure it's not totally insane. I sure hope she's not annoyed with how often I was changing it before now...

Well, good. Now that federation is going smoothly, I should really decide what I want to do with the other instance. Maybe step one is changing the avatar icon on one of the two, at least.

Okay, that looks like it did it. Turns out the LE script was giving me a fullchain.pem after all, I just wasn't using it (and wasn't aware I should be). Now Octodon finally recognized my server and notified me that I'm following myself.

Thanks!

Well, sure enough, I'm using Let's Encrypt certs, curl reports errors when contacting the server, and I know from checking the logs before that Apache was making no mark in them from Mastodon instances (which first led me to believe they weren't even trying). Huh.

So I guess I'll need to look into getting better PEMs for my various LE certs. I sort of hope this won't get too out of hand...

Anyway, thanks for the advice!

Having just beaten Yooka-Laylee, I suddenly appreciate just how many people in the world are apparently named "Aaron".

Okay, weird. I tell Octodon to look up my profile on my own GNU Social instance, and as far as I can tell from my web logs, it didn't even try. Just reported an error and that's it. Huh.

Ooo, excellent, the proof copies of my book have shipped. That'll be nice to have.

Ah, Hockey Night in Canada. I don't get much chance to see that when I'm down in Central Kentucky...

@DialMforMara It's not like I really NEED to federate to my instance, but I figure I was bored, so I may as well try and all. :-)

@DialMforMara It's a GNU Social instance running at social.exclaimindustries.net.

Guess until I can figure out why I can't federate from my own server to Octodon (etc, etc), I'll just stick around here.

This account has been added to the other end of the federation. Now let's see if this post shows up...

This is the first entry. In theory, this should federate to my server. In theory, mind. That theory is very unstable at present.
