It's surprising sometimes just how much of my job isn't fixing a problem, but explaining to people why whatever they're complaining about isn't actually a problem. 99% of the time when people have an issue with the output they're seeing, it's because they're doing something wrong, not because there's an actual issue. That's not a metaphor or anything.
Dreamed that I was watching Star Trek: DIscovery and they had a DARKER, GRITTIER version of The Trouble with Tribbles where the sound the tribbles make acts as an outright dangerous narcotic and that's why the captain kept a sterile one around.
But when non-sterile ones get into the ship and crew and start multiplying everyone gets severe dependence (due to already being stressed from war conditions) and starts violently rebelling against attempts to get rid of them.
I really didn't want to like FFXV, for oh so many reasons, but I finally gave in and actually played it, and GODDAMMIT.
I've been out of dental floss for weeks now, and I can't bring myself to make a special trip for it, but I keep forgetting to grab some while I'm at the store, and this is probably what the milder circles of Hell are like -- minor annoyances that only annoy you more because they are of your own making.

I'm not into numerology or anything, but I just noticed something bizarre. I'm 164cm tall, which rounds to 64 inches. My husband was born in 1964. My goal weight? 64kg (not there yet but it will happen). Maybe I'm a silly nerd, but I think that's pretty cool.

Thanks to YouTube, I finally understand how to factor polynomials by grouping (Why am I doing this? Let's just say I decided to fill some gaps in my education). It's weird how some math stuff I get right away, and other stuff seems like esoteric voodoo magic until someone explains it to me in just the right way (which was never the way the textbooks explained it).
it seems reasonable to me that one's response to "please don't call me [word]" ought to be "ok, i won't," and not "actually it's fine if i call you [word] because"
I know this sounds egotistical, but the main reason I still, at 36, have no idea what I want to do with my life, is that I'm good at like 90% of the things I try, and I like trying new things. Sometimes I wish I sucked at more things, just to help me narrow down my options.

I've said it before but it bears repeating: the use of ad-blockers generally DOESN'T reflect a desire to not see any ads at all. It reflects a desire to not see ABUSIVE ads.
Pop-up ads, ads that redirect our browser to other sites, ads that flash and dance and play audio and video, ads that cover the content: this is what we're trying to avoid.
