@calyanare I was in traffic in Denver when the news broke. I couldn't believe what I was hearing as it was unfolding.
9/11 had a bigger effect though. Maybe because I am a vet, but I feel my world changed more that day.
@Mr_Ed Yes, my world changed more that day, and in the couple of months following that, than it did in April 1999. It's just not comforting to think about how one of those events actually brought about changes and the other did not.

@calyanare I'm just a few years older than you, and I think the same thing.
I was stunned for a while as shootings happened. Then I was apathetic, now I'm angry.
Mass Shootings are not a price we pay to be free. They aren't something that need to be a part of life.
They are excused, because putting the lives of our citizens first in this situation comes at the expense of profits, and political careers.
