This is actually a fun site for sigils.

We used to hate the magic box method of sigil creation, but it's definitely grown on us, and it is actually our most common method.

I teach tech and I'm often asked why I don't teach some allegedly time-saving proprietary tool/environment/whatever. the answer is that the risk of that proprietary tool just ceasing to exist are really high, and when that happens, the time I spend developing curricula against the tool goes up in smoke. by contrast, notes I wrote for, e.g., python text processing are just as good today as they were ten years ago. over the long run, I think I save a lot of time by teaching only open source tools.

PSA: if you see a remote toot and think "wow that is an amazing toot, why does it have 0 favs/boosts/replies"? It probably doesn't. It's just that nobody from this instance follows someone who fav'ed/boosted/replied to it.

One thing I found useful is to just eagerly follow people you see in the Federated timeline saying stuff you like. You can always unfollow/block later.

The Masto experience gets fleshed out the more you use an instance. Keep in mind toot.cafe is 4 days old. 😄

For people who only do the thing they know they should do, when they are accountable (sort of) to someone who is waiting to hear back from them that they did the thing. And similar needs.

We can do it privately, just tagging those in the group to request help. And then when someone agrees to help, they can talk between the two of them.
