Have to remind myself it's a process. I'm going to try to enter a competition I found, I have a story started that I think would be excellent for it and it's been coming in big 2k-3k chunks, so -- that'll happen.

I'm working out what kind of ad campaign I'm going to feel comfortable with, and I'm getting closer.

It's a process.

Bleh. I'm getting a little frustrated thinking about this, so I'm just gonna put myself into some work or something else I can focus on to clear my mind. :\

(I mean, I have no illusion I'll WIN it, that'd be nice but there's a lot of entries and I doubt I'll stick out that much -- but that's okay. I'll get a little more visibility. And the same for the ad campaign -- more visibility. Then I can release the story, have it roll with the ad campaign, etc., and get a little multiplicative effect going. Just -- have to breathe and focus.)

@sydneyfalk Every step takes you closer, no matter how small :) I've been losing contests for a while, but looking back I'm a far better creative today then I was before. They say the first million words you write are trash, which can be seen as demoralizing, but what it really means is that you eventually get there, but you've got to work at it a while.

And yeah! More visibility, more feedback. Focus on your successes. Getting lost in what you don't have leads to madness

@brwarner

Yeah, I know I've improved, and my best friend says I'm in better form now than in the past six-plus years. It's just my brain. I'm always presupposing my stuff is shit.

However, because I don't need to think it's "good" to write it and edit it, I'm gonna worry about fixing that part of my thinking later, and try to focus on writing and making my writing a little more visible for now.

Therapy doesn't pay the bills, at least not in short timespans. ^_^

@sydneyfalk ^_^ You can do it.

@brwarner

All signs suggest that I can. ^_^ I suppose I'll find out, but it looks very likely.
