I just watched the episode of Lady Dynamite where Maria's mom meets Scott and tries to psychoanalyze him. It was... difficult to watch.

It's hard to buy gifts for your partner and keep them a secret when you share expenses.

I grew up with an emotionally abusive mother whom I no longer talk to. I kinda want to see Lady Bird but feel like it could be a bad idea. Mainly because of those “call your mom and tell her you love her after seeing Lady Bird” hot takes.

I need a puppy in my life. But I am terrified of getting the wrong puppy. My soul mate dog, who died last summer was so perfect in every way. What if I get, like, a really dumb dog. Or a dog who is an asshole?

Also, Facebook is what I do when I'm bored, so if I'm that bored while checking Facebook that my automatic response is to check Facebook that is some META AS SHIT social media conditioning/dopamine response.

Sometimes I have Facebook open and I'm looking right at it and then I go to open Facebook in a new tab. Like, that is how AUTOMATIC checking Facebook is for me. #gross

It's one of those days where my to do list is so long that I'm just gonna say fuck it all and go shopping instead.

I am a freelance writer. I sometimes write about fashion. I had a PR rep with a big-name brand email me and ask me to come take a tour of their local boutique. I'm doing that today. And for some reason I am kind of nervous and dreading it!

I can't possibly imagine what might happen there except for a nice chat and maybe them trying to pitch me stories but I am all up in my head about it. This is why people with anxiety avoid social situations — even hanging out with friends.

In good news though, I tried out a new mascara today and it held up well to the meltdown at least.

I've had a big cry building for several weeks and it finally came out today. Not sure I feel any better tho. I haven't been doing great lately.

Hi Mastodonies. I am back from camping and I have missed you.

I just found out a former neighbor died of lymphoma somewhat suddenly last summer while I was living in the Netherlands. He was only 46. I feel terrible for his wife and terrible that I only just found out. I kind of want to drop her a condolence email but not sure if that would be appropriate a year+ later.

I hate Thanksgiving. I don’t give a shit about the holiday, but it’s always a painful reminder of when I would still go back home to visit family before I decided to stop being a victim of their abuse. Now I try to plan special trips for myself, which is why husband and I will be going completely off the grid for a rural Texas backpacking trip.

I am looking forward to being incommunicado.

New favorite beverage: mango juice and soda water.
